Hi. stumbled across your site.

I disagree that "Satan was not thinking about Job." If Satan wasn't thinking about the righteous person, who is his focus? The unrighteous? I personally believe that Job is all that he was thinking about because it's the character of Satan (John 10:10a). If he 'roamed' the earth, do you believe he missed Job? He was simply waiting for an opportunity (Luke 4:13).

He understood that Job's love for God meant Job recieved the blessing (hedge of protection) of God. When Satan approached God, God knew Satan's heart and what he desired (Heb 4:13) but also knew Job's heart (1 Sam 16:7). Satan didn't predict Job would curse God, that would mean he has omniscient power, Satan desired or hoped for Job to curse God just as he desires and hopes we curse God (remove ourselves from the blessing of God).
